What a wonderful article on ways to not only show our children genuine love, but how to teach them to receive love. Kids are learning how they treat themselves and others by watching us. These 14 steps will not only help us show love to ourselves, but teach our children how to do it too. Thanks so much for sharing this article!

Hi Jacqueline. You are not alone in having difficulty with this. Using the CALM method and mirroring are counter-intuitive and it takes some practice to be able to pull them out in the heat of the moment.

I just did a powerful interview with an author Jennifer Kolari. I thought you might want to listen to the audio. Kolari’s book, Connected Parenting, is the best overall parenting book I’ve read in 10 years of parenting education. She was a great interviewee, and had wonderful tips. I wish I’d read her book when my kids were in that 2 - 3 year old stage!

Well, have you heared about Shelly Birger Phillips and Jill Nagel who are running a blog “Awake Parent Perspectives”? They are also doing very good job. I’ve found their “Eight Steps To Conected Parenting” very informative and I summarised this audio program in my Squidoo lenses.
