The great news is that Lisa Nichols did agree to be on an upcoming summit! This one is too close for her to be able to do though. I am excited because she has a great program called Motivating Teens, and I look forward to asking her what her top tips are.

What a wonderful article on ways to not only show our children genuine love, but how to teach them to receive love. Kids are learning how they treat themselves and others by watching us. These 14 steps will not only help us show love to ourselves, but teach our children how to do it too. Thanks so much for sharing this article!

Hi Jacqueline. You are not alone in having difficulty with this. Using the CALM method and mirroring are counter-intuitive and it takes some practice to be able to pull them out in the heat of the moment.

You may want to check out the Connected Parenting blog (www.connectedparenting.com/blog) next week as we are introducing a new feature, Mirroring Mondays, so we can give some examples of mirroring each week.

I just did a powerful interview with an author Jennifer Kolari. I thought you might want to listen to the audio. Kolari's book, Connected Parenting, is the best overall parenting book I've read in 10 years of parenting education. She was a great interviewee, and had wonderful tips. I wish I'd read her book when my kids were in that 2 - 3 year old stage!

http://www.attendthisevent.com/Classic/?eventid=10590078.

The audio will be taken down next Thursday night. If you decide to listen to it and want to comment, please do!

Thanks for your comment and question! The book is great, and the audio has the advantage of hearing Jennifer describe the powerful mirroring technique in person. The replay is available until next Thursday night at the following url:

http://www.attendthisevent.com/Classic/?eventid=10590078 .

I'd love to hear what you think of it after you listen to it!

Well, have you heared about Shelly Birger Phillips and Jill Nagel who are running a blog "Awake Parent Perspectives"? They are also doing very good job. I've found their "Eight Steps To Conected Parenting" very informative and I summarised this audio program in my Squidoo lenses.
