Facts on Bullying – Great Short Video

Bullying in schools is every parents worst nightmare. It can be easy to forget about this issue over the holiday season. However, this is a great time to connect with your child, give him or her some facts about bullying, and find out whether this is an issue in his or her life.

This short video beautifully illustrates how bullies shrink when confronted. During the Christmas holidays, we have a great chance to bully proof our kids by spending time strengthening their ties to us, so that they never feel alone. Studies have shown that if a victim of bullying has at least one adult who he or she feels loved and connected to, that can give them the strength to get through bullying.

Show this to your child over the holidays, and ask them for their opinion on the video. You may open up a conversation that needs to happen. You will certainly be making it clear that your child can come to you if he or she ever witnesses, or is a victim of, bullying.

Happy holidays!

Great video. Standing up to your bully can be really hard, and I love how the study shows that feeling loved by an adult helps to stop the bully. It’s the most important thing a child can and should receive.
